About

UltraBlack Farm is a Black-owned aquaponics and urban farming operation based in Conyers, GA, serving the greater Atlanta area. Maurice Person founded the farm, building on his earlier venture, Kansas City Aquaponics, before relocating operations to Georgia in 2022 to expand its reach. In addition to growing fresh produce through aquaponic and traditional methods, UltraBlack Farm offers educational consultations for people interested in starting their own aquaponics or urban farming projects. As a result, customers can find its produce at multiple metro Atlanta farmers markets throughout the week. Meanwhile, the farm also participates in community-supported agriculture (CSA), connecting subscribers directly with fresh, locally grown food. In short, UltraBlack Farm combines sustainable food production with hands-on education for the community.
