It all started with a fire truck.

We were at Target, one of those stores where I actually let my toddler roam instead of keeping him in the cart. He spotted a Little People fire truck, and when I got closer, I saw that the little fireman was Black. That was it. I bought it on the spot.

What I thought would be a one-time toy turned into a full on obsession. At first, it was just something fun for my toddler. But then I started buying them for myself too, and I have no regrets.

The first set I got for me was the I Love Lucy collector set. I grew up watching it on Nick at Nite and loved it, even as a kid. That show is still one of my all-time favorites.
