I have been in the South Fulton area for a little over six months. However, I have only scratched the surface when it comes to eating out locally. That is why I built the South Fulton Business Directory, and not only to help others find great spots but to push myself to explore more. Today I want to talk about three restaurants in Fairburn my family and I keep going back to.
Lady Fannie Mae Fish Fry
For starters, Lady Fannie Mae Fish Fry was the very first restaurant we tried when we moved here. It set the bar high from day one. The fish is fried to absolute perfection and it looks just as good as it tastes. In addition, the whole place has that home cooked meal energy that is honestly hard to find. The workers have always been kind every single time we have walked through the door. They also offer some really nice desserts that are worth saving room for.
That Burger Spot
For starters, That Burger Spot has multiple locations and all of them are prominently in Black areas. I think that is really dope. They always have a great playlist going when you walk in. The self serve stations make ordering feel easy and low pressure. Best of all, no matter your dietary preferences you can eat here. They offer beef, turkey, fish, impossible burgers, and bean burgers. Additionally, the prices are extremely fair and I have never had a complaint any time we have gone.
TrucKINGS BBQ
First and foremost, TrucKINGS BBQ is our absolute favorite. It is not even close. We have been there at least ten times. I even interviewed two family members to get their official take on the ribs. My cousin said they are flavorful and tender, smoked to perfection and not dry at all. My aunt went even further. She said they are the BEST ribs she has ever had. She called them juicy, moist, and full of flavor and gave them a 20 out of 10. In addition, my son and I do not eat pork. So I always get the BBQ chicken. I can honestly say the same things my family said about the ribs apply to the chicken. My son gets the fried chicken and he does not say a single word while he is eating it. That is how you know it hits.
Final Thoughts
In summary, if you are in the Fairburn or South Fulton area these three spots are worth your time and your coins. Not only do they each bring something different to the table, but they all have that community feel that makes eating local so special. You can view these spots and more on the Food and Dining page of the South Fulton Business Directory.
