Looking for sushi near South Fulton GA?? These are the five highest rated spots I found within a short drive, and every one sits at 4.2 stars or higher on Google.
This post exists because of Threads. Someone asked where to find the best sushi in the South Fulton, Fairburn, and Fayetteville areas. Then a lovely person tagged me and sent them to the South Fulton Business Directory. Honestly, I was a little embarrassed to admit I didn’t have a single sushi spot listed yet. I do eat sushi from time to time. It’s just not often enough that I ever thought to add it!!
So I went looking. Fortunately (and unfortunately), it didn’t take long, because there aren’t many options close by. I also set a hard cutoff at 4.2 stars. You shouldn’t be playing around with any food you eat out, let alone raw fish. Here are the five that made the cut.
Rukaa Sushi (Peachtree City)
Rukaa Sushi tops the list with a 4.8 rating on Google. You’ll find it at 361 GA-74 in Peachtree City. It’s a newer, more upscale Japanese spot from Chef Alvin and actor Michael Rooker, who played Merle on The Walking Dead. Sushi is the main event, but the full kitchen also grills steak, salmon, and pork belly. Also, reviewers keep coming back to how fresh the fish is and how friendly the staff is. Just plan around the hours. It’s closed Sundays and only serves dinner on Mondays and Saturdays.
Fish Bowl Poké (Hapeville)
Fish Bowl Poké holds a 4.8 on Google from over 600 reviews. Quick heads up: this is poke, not traditional sushi rolls. So you build your own bowl with raw salmon or tuna, sushi rice, and toppings. It calls itself Atlanta’s first poke restaurant, and it comes from the creators of Dua Vietnamese Noodle Soup. Plus, it’s the closest pick to the South Fulton core, right on South Central Ave. But don’t plan a weekend trip. It’s open weekdays from 11 to 6 and closed Saturday and Sunday. The space is small and front parking is limited, so takeout is the move.
Momonoki (Peachtree City)
Momonoki earns a 4.7 on Google and sits at 2100 GA-54 in Peachtree City. Along with sushi, it serves traditional home-style Japanese dishes. In fact, one reviewer said a Japanese friend called it the closest thing to home cooking she’d found in the US. Reviewers also describe a crowd of regulars and a team that makes you feel like family. Double check the address in your map app, since there’s also a Momonoki in Midtown Atlanta. It’s closed Sundays and Mondays.
KOI Ramen & Sushi (Fayetteville)
KOI Ramen & Sushi holds a 4.5 on Google with over 300 reviews. That’s why it’s the top pick for anyone who named Fayetteville in that Threads post. Here you can get sushi rolls, ramen, and teriyaki plates in one stop, and it’s easy on the wallet. Even better, one reviewer said they drive all the way from Fairburn to eat there. You’ll find it at 1360 GA-85, and one Yelp reviewer noted it sits back behind the Olive Garden. Heads up, it’s closed Wednesdays.
Zab-E-Lee Thai & Sushi (College Park)
Zab-E-Lee rounds out the list at 4.2 on Google from over 750 reviews. It’s also the most South Fulton of the bunch, right at 4837 Old National Hwy in College Park. You get Thai food and sushi under one roof. But here’s the thing: it’s known more for its Thai side. In fact, The Infatuation’s review points people toward the Thai menu over the sushi. So this is your compromise spot when one person wants a spicy tuna roll and another wants pad see ew. Plus, it’s the only one on this list open seven days a week.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the sushi pickings near South Fulton are slim. But the five that cleared 4.2 stars give you a solid mix: upscale rolls in Peachtree City, a quick poke lunch in Hapeville, ramen and sushi in Fayetteville, and a Thai and sushi combo in College Park. As always, if you know a spot I missed, let me know. I LOVE getting local recommendations from you. Also, if you’ve eaten at any of these, drop a comment and tell me how it was!!
