In the earliest weeks of my son’s life, we went through several bottles before finding the right one. It felt exactly like Goldilocks and the Three Bears too this, too that, until we landed on one that was just right.
We started with the Medela bottles since they fit the Medela pump perfectly. Get them here. Once I stopped breastfeeding due to the stress and feeling like my supply was too low, I didn’t see a reason to keep using those.
Next up were Dr. Brown’s bottles. My son actually liked drinking from them, and I thought the classic design was cute, but that anti-colic vent was a nightmare to clean. Find them here.
Then we tried Tommee Tippee bottles, since every mommy blog seemed to recommend them and I grabbed some on sale. Honestly, they just didn’t work for us. See them here.
After that, we tested the Philips Avent Anti-Colic bottles with the vent. Check them out here. The problem was the vent: with it in, my son couldn’t get milk fast enough. Without it positioned just right, the bottles leaked everywhere.
Finally, we found the Philips Avent Natural Anti-Colic bottles—and that was our Goldilocks moment. See them here. My son loved them, I loved them. They were easy to clean, didn’t leak, and gave him a steady milk flow that actually worked.
After all the trial and error, we finally found our “just right” bottle.
